What is Mil Thickness?
  A "mil" is a unit of thickness equal to one thousandth of an inch. To convert mil to inches take mil & divide by 1000.

Ex: 2 mil/1000 =.002 inches

To convert mil to gauge, take mil and multiply it by 100.

Ex: .80 mil x 100 = 80 gauge.
